Inspiring a lifelong love for learning

Portland Waldorf School is a private, independent school located in Milwaukie, OR. We are the most established Waldorf School in the Portland metropolitan region and the only nursery through high school program in the Pacific Northwest.
Our arts-integrated, holistic education engages each child as a whole person, nurturing intellectual curiosity alongside artistic expression, emotional well-being, and a deep connection to themselves and the world around them. Our students are creative, independent thinkers who meet the world with initiative and purpose.

Why PWS?
Set on seven acres just 15 minutes from downtown Portland, Oregon, our campus is home to two spring-fed creeks, multiple play areas, two school buildings, a blacksmithing shop, athletic fields, abundant gardens, and a wood-fired oven.

Land Acknowledgement
Portland Waldorf School recognizes that we are here because of sacrifices forced upon the original people of this land. We honor with gratitude the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Cowlitz, Siletz, Tumwater, Watlala bands of the Chinook, the Tualatin, Kalapuya and many other Tribal nations and people of the Willamette and Columbia River regions, who belong to and have cared for this land since time immemorial. We honor and pay our respects to the Native American people of this land, past, present and future.

Upcoming Events
CARE Party
Saturday, August 23, 9am-1pm
Let’s work together to get our campus ready for back to school!
Some of the most important work we can do is to model for our children that we are dedicated to hard work and care for the spaces in which we live.
Twice a year, PWS hosts a day of caring work, community building and fun in service to the beautiful land and buildings that hold our children every school day. Join fellow parents, faculty and staff for a variety of projects, both indoors and outdoors.
Children of all ages are encouraged to join in the activities.
