Before & After School Care
PWS Beforecare and Aftercare is offered for students in Early Childhood and Grades 1-6.
Beforecare is available from 8:00-8:30am each school day. Aftercare runs Monday - Friday from 3- 5:30pm on most school days.

EARLY CHILDHOOD
Portland Waldorf School offers Before & After Care for students in the Early Childhood program. We provide the students a safe and warm environment to enjoy a relaxed period of time after a full day with their teachers and classmates. Along with a healthy afternoon snack, there is creative play and outdoor time at Walnut Hill. Our care providers are trained to model the same guidelines and social behaviors as in the day-time program in preschool and kindergarten.
GRADE SCHOOL
Portland Waldorf School offers Before & After Care for students in Grades 1-6. It serves as a transition from the classroom rhythm into home life. The extended day rhythm of a healthy out-breath helps support the students as they digest and integrate the learning they have done with their class and subject teachers earlier in the day.
Our activities and environment complement the school day experience and are in harmony with Waldorf philosophy. With outdoor time, creative play, and a healthy afternoon snack, Grade 1-6 students are cared for by trained providers who understand and appreciate the importance of this time of the day and strive to maintain a continuity of care. Students continue to experience the guidelines of school boundaries, social behaviors, and age appropriate activities that they follow in the regular school day.
