LivingLAB Co-director, Kelly Hogan shared this vignette of a February morning in Grade 1:

“It was exciting to have a little bit of snow greeting us this morning for our first day back from break!

Grade 1 started the week with a snowy nature walk to the river. The water was high and the children counted over 50 birds where Johnson Creek meets the Willamette! The students practiced balancing on the walk back, then sipped warm herbal tea while settling into the classroom. The day’s tea mix was mint and calendula – a perfect soothing blend for the transition back to school.”
